Pm04z71
Upgrading to a 75g with a 20g sump. was wondering what everyone would recommend. As per most will probably be heavily stocked. I have been looking at the the Bubble Magus Curve5, BM c6, and the Skimz sn143 mainly because the dc pump sounds nice. Thank you for any input. Link to comment
emily97
Look into the aquamaxx co1,reef octopus sss150 or int150.the bmc6 does look good,it's has the same pump as the curve 7 Link to comment
ajmckay
I've got an older version of the BMC6 (NAC6) and I've liked it - I'm actually putting in the SP2000 pump this next week. I was really close to getting the skimz sn143 or the RLSS i5 but I decided against it just because I'm not sure that a DC skimmer pump is such a good idea... I mean the idea is cool but in reality I don't really see how the ability to adjust the flow into the skimmer would make any improvement - I would probably just put it to max and leave it there... Also it seems like just one more variable to introduce into the mix when I'd rather keep it simple... btw I have a 40b with a 30 sump. I think the curve 5 is attractive because of the price and it gets good reviews, can't go wrong with one of the reef octopus though unless you get the space saving model you'll need a bit of room, and don't forget about the apex, which people seem to like a lot and while it's a bit more expensive it's pretty nice. Pm04z71
So many different models to look at. why couldn't they make this decision easier. Link to comment
emily97
You gotta see your water level in the sump and what you want to spend.the reason I didn't pick the skimz,is the pump. The aquamaxx has the best pump but it's more expensive.I think the bubble mag 6 is a great deal Link to comment

Most of the time 7-9" is appropriate. Link to comment
Hig789
I was looking at the Skimz sn143 really hard for my 40b setup. I like the fact that it's a DC pump also but I ended up getting a great deal on a used RO 110sss. But If I would have bought one new it would have been the Skimz. From what I have read everyone is really happy with them except one person on the forums that posts negative reviews in every Skimz thread there is. IMO I don't believe BRS would be selling them if they were junk. Also the foot print of the internal pump design is nice. Link to comment
Pm04z71
yea i deff will be going with the internal pump design on which ever skimmer i decide on, so i can utilize as much space as possible for the fuge. Link to comment
Martin reefer
Get one with the pump underneath for more room and more power- reef octopus makes a nice space saver Link to comment
RyanR1212
I'd personally go with an ASM. I think I had an ASM G-1 on my 125 reef and that thing kicked butt! The water looked beautiful and the corals and anemones loved it. Link to comment
