Cleanup question

Hello everyone!

So about five months ago I had a 20 gallon reef system whose front panel decided to explode in the middle of the night. At the time I did my best to clean up, rented a rug cleaner from the hardware store and all and moved what coral specimens I had to the quarantine tank until I could get a 14 gallon biocube. All well and good.

Well now I'm moving to a new place and I've found that there's still a lot of caked in salt under the stand (I used the same stand for the biocube). This is/was my first failed reef so question #1: Is that carpet ruined by now? #2: if not whats the best way to clean up the salt (I'm hoping that the rug cleaner can pull through for me here)

Thanks everyone!

Lightly use a brush to loosen it up, then vacuum it up (while it's still dry). Now you want to get it wet. Use water to help dissolve the salt, then wipe it up with a dry towel. After that, I'd try the rug cleaner to get the rest.
