dragonxflare
I recently started to see this around my tank a little, it's on some rocks, and even on the sand bed a little. It looks like Chaeto.... but I don't know if it is, never really see Chaeto attach itself to rocks before. http://imgur.com/gBP8TAp Any idea what it is? And how I can get rid of it? Link to comment
Markburns43
I had to click on the link to see a better picture and I think your talkin g about a single strand on the rock? Being like cheato as it's more rigid? Could be the start of grape caulpera ? I have some single stalk algae and I let it be , eventually it sprouted a cone at the tip but hasn't gotten worse. On some zoas I have a 100 percent if of grape caulpera and i believe the other algae to be the same we will see. Other than that the picture is hard to id Link to comment

Markburns43
I can't give you an id but I will say I have what looked like that algae and it ended forming something at the tip, I'd try and scrap it off catch them in net an get rid of them they will multiply once they form the tip to release it's spores, this is from what I've seen in my tank.
