Hi i have some coraline algae on my rocks but in the past year it has not spread

here are my parameters

calcium - 420 ppm

alk - 5.59 meq/l

kh - 15.7 DKH

amonia - 0

nitrite - 0

nitrate - 0

phosphates - unknown but i dose no3po4x everyday

tank:

20 gallons

AI PRIME LIGHT (everything at 100% even the whites)

MP10 Power head

Eshopps nano skimmer

i hear they hate white light and love blue light, any truth to this?

I don't know about the "hate the white light", but I have two tanks : a 28g and a 10G. The 10G is lit by a minitide and the 28g is lit by a Kessil A160WE. I see coraline algae growing in my 10g but not in my 28g (they both use the same salt mix). It's a mystery for me too how that works.

some more info such as how long the tank has been running, a list of live stock, i have a rock covered in plating coraline and everywhere else is small patches here and there. it grows best for me where ever my urchin cant reach.

That KH is crazy high!

Anywho, consistent parameters is your best bet. When I was dosing by hand over 8-12 months I couldn't get coralline to grow. I got a doser, and actually put time into how much my tank consumes KH/Cal per day and Mag per week... once I dialed it in, coralline came quick. I run my lights on the bluer side as well, but still do have white light... about 2:1 ratio blue/white

I have rally high Ca around 500.. All the time., nitrates are around 10, phosphate just detectable. I have to scrape it off the glass weekly.

I keep the water "dirty" for my softies but the coraline seems to like that too

nope, I dose NO3PO4 and occasionally i will dose fuel and purple up. can that cause the high alkalinity.

how can i lower it? will it go away on its own

you can burn the more sensitive corals, are you dosing anything for alk and kh?

why do you dose the NO3PO4? and hold off on the fuel and purple up, alk gets used up over time and if you stop adding it will lower. doing water changes will bring it down, what live stock do you have?

Purple up is a waste if ££. Coraline seems to enjoy no more than moderate light, and slightly less thank best water conditions.
