Brjphoto
Hi I'm a noob I just set this bad boy up recently and started to think I need more rock at least two and I was thinking a medium to large size one in the back and a smaller one where the sand is getting pushed out of the way I was going to adjust the water flow a little higher? Just looking for ideas and advice. So far the temp has stayed at 79-80. I am new so please feel free to tell me anything I need to change or do differently and it's only day 2 of set up so not planning on adding anything alive until about a month or a month half? Just looking for ideas and advice. Add the rock sooner than later. You'll want it to fully cure along with your other rock. Adding and/or moving rock can affect your tank's flow patterns. This might help prevent the sand from blowing around. However, as a bio-film develops, the sand won't tend to blow around quite as much. So far the temp has stayed at 79-80. I am new so please feel free to tell me anything I need to change or do differently and it's only day 2 of set up so not planning on adding anything alive until about a month or a month half? Patience is good. Do you have any test kits? You should post a picture of your setup. Link to comment
Brjphoto
Yes I do have test kits and what do you think about adding a rock to the back and a small one in the front in a corner? Link to comment
seabass
I like how much rock you have in there. But it's personal preference, so if you'd like more rock, go for it. Link to comment
Hammerstone
Your tank is very pretty!!! I say I like it how it is. I love the corraline covering the rocks, if that's what it is. Link to comment

Thank you! I'm not hundred percent sure if that's what it is. I got it at my local lfs. Any suggestions on easy corals until I get more experience and better lighting Link to comment
HarryPotter
Thank you! I'm not hundred percent sure if that's what it is. I got it at my local lfs. Any suggestions on easy corals until I get more experience and better lighting Zoanthids are pretty easy! Maybe also some mushrooms? What lighting do you have? I would avoid the VERY beginner coral Xenia, because it can take over the tank and become a pain to get rid of. Link to comment

I have the stock lighting that comes with the bio cube but I think I might get the Kessil A160WE in a couple weeks. Still debating on it though. I was hoping to have a mushroom Link to comment

Newstead
Mushrooms do fine under the stock biocube lighting. Just wait until your cycle is completed. Link to comment

Hammerstone
To me, it looks colored, like Life Rock or something similar.i thought that too after. I remember when my husband and I got our live rock at the store and I said I wanted the rock that had all kinds of corraline on it and that I didn't want the plain rock and he told me it wasn't real rock, but the store said it works just takes longer. We went with the live rock. Link to comment

Hig789
I like the amount of rock you have. mine is of similar size and shape. I kinda made a U shape out of mine. Or a J. You can get too much rock in there though and make it look crowded. Link to comment
