Quick idea.

So I was tooling around in my friends garage, saw he had some rock, and needing rock a new tank figured I'd see what I could come up with. I'm kind of digging, not sure if I love it. It does look pretty natural though. Opinions or critique welcomed. IMG_20150903_223150686_zpsqw0mpkbn.jpg. IMG_20150903_223205979_zpstf4s2maj.jpg

In the bottom picture, the left leg is small at the bottom. That could put too much pressure on one spot in the bottom of the tank. I would put something under that leg to spread the pressure out.

Yeah, other than that left leg/column being a little thin at the bottom I think it looks pretty nice as well.

But looking more closely it looks to be one sold peice on that side. So it might actually be okay. But personally I would worry a little about that side being moved or sliding/falling down.

Yeah it'll definitely get epoxied together

I used some 1/2 inch cast acrylic rods as dowels. Drilled 1/2 inch holes in the rock cut the dowel to fit than epoxied it together. It was a bit of work but its not coming apart. You setting up the Solana again? or is this a new tank?

I've had amazing success with just jb water weld, my last structure was 4 or 5 pieces of Marco epoxied with jb water weld. The solana has a new how, new tank is a full Starfire 20x20x12, and the tallest part of this structure is 14-15" so it'll stick out of the water a bit, just like I wanted. That back is going to get drilled with a coast to coast. I was going to skin it orange but I wanted something a little more not off the wall, and black goes good with any other furniture.
