frootbat
I was originally going to do a SpecV anemone tank, but decided to drag out my PicO 5g instead since I have the PicoSkim also, which should help with the water quality after feedings. Not sure this is gonna work, but hey, only one way to find out, right? Equipment: Pico Aquariums 5g Nanobox Tide w/Bluefish Mini Pico Skim 2.0 w/ Whisper 20 pump AutoAqua smart ATO cheapo Tetra heater (may change this) Substrate: Biotek Marine Ceramic Pillar (yup, no sand) Stock: GSP frag (little spot on the lower left of the pic) 2 baby rock flowers and 2 maxi minis are en route from Morgan at reefgardner.net, and a Porcelain Crab I need to fish out of the SpecV. I'm pretty sure the maxi minis will be happy without sand. I'm mildly concerned about the rock flowers, but I've tried researching and have found conflicting info, so why not give it a try? I'm hoping that the GSP will take over the bottom of the tank and cover the base, I may need another frag on the other side of the tank to help speed things up a bit. Wish me luck! Link to comment
HarryPotter
That looks awesome, the PicO 5 and NanoBox Tide is a crazy combo I've never seen. I wish PicO was still producing tanks! Link to comment

Probably overkill for these anemones, but it's the light I got for the tank. I think my midday lighting is maybe 25% white and around 50% blue. When the anemones go in I might bump the intensity up a bit if they start climbing Link to comment
uwdanno
This will be awesome. Hopefully those nems will stay put Link to comment
frootbat
Hope so too, but since I'm not planning on any other stock except for the GSP on the floor (although I might get some rics for color/filler), I won't need to worry about them hurting other corals if they do move a bit. I'm guessing the worst case scenario is that they like the floor of the tank. Link to comment
gkarris
Pretty snazzy tank - love "cube" sized ones. I just got a 5G Current USA Solo 5 but had to go a bit taller as I set it up as a FW Paludarium... Link to comment
Fnard
Looking like you're off to a nice start. Hope everything works as planned. Would be pretty sweet. Good luck with RFA's. IME, pay and present, they've anyways gone to sand where they can sink their foot. Been trying to get them to stay on a rock I put in just for them to fill up in my current build, been they keep moving. Next up, staple gun. Link to comment
frootbat
Got the critters in from Morgan today, here are some bluish pics. I'll try taking some better ones later. Link to comment
braaap
Ok this has potential to be awesome. I'd add a few more small GSP frags though. Sometimes the stuff grows crazy fast. Other times it doesn't. Link to comment
frootbat
Planning on some more GSP if I can find some. Also, wanted to take a tank shot, but the Bluefish mini isn't cooperating, not letting me change the light settings so I can ease up on the blue for photos. Link to comment

Try pulling power for about 30 seconds and try it again. This flushes the storage on the Electric Imp and makes it have to redownload all of its settings, usually clears up any weird bugs like that. frootbat
This guy looks cozy Yeah, I put them in, left the pumps off for 30min, and he just kind of made that his spot Link to comment

Did that, then it was giving me a "couldn't connect" error, so I did a re-blinkup, now I have white light and the phone is on "configuring". Hopefully it will finish soon. Link to comment
frootbat
Popped the card out and back in, that did the trick. Full tank shot in photo mode: Link to comment
jedimasterben
The shot of the individual maxi mini I had the same clone of, it bleached out one day so it was SUPER pale and never darkened back up. Stayed like that for like 6 months before I lost it in a holding tub switching tanks. Link to comment
frootbat
Yikes! Hopefully 25% white and 60% blues at mid day is low enough for them. I'd hate to see a bleached anemone. Link to comment
Langer6
Very cool and unique. Following along! Link to comment

It wasn't light that bleached it out, I don't know what it was (I'm thinking potassium, as when I started dosing it, it colored back up a bit almost overnight, but when I stopped dosing it went back to bleached). What you've got is fine IMHO Link to comment

frootbat
Me? Always. Not much new, the 2 rock flowers haven't moved a bit, but one of the mini maxis seems to be trying to take another ones spot, it almost looked like one was on top of the other. Will be interesting to see where they are when I get home from work. Link to comment

frootbat
Well, home from work, and now THREE mini maxis are in almost the same spot: edit: The little gray spheres you see are LPS pellets, I thought maybe feeding them would provide a distraction Link to comment
