Apart from using a razor and scraping the silicone from the acrylic is there any chemical that can remove it safely without damaging the seams or acrylic

It should normally peel off easily but if not you should be able to use goo gone and then buff it back to glossy again, goo gone will dull the surface but won't eat into the acrylic.

Thanks for the recommendation MrReefer81. Hope the acrylic business is going well. I have no idea of the type of silicone the previous owner used but I have Broken 7 finger nail trying to remove that thing off. Do you recommend any specific product for giving the acrylic it's shine back

You bet and thank you, it's been progressing well so far. You can use Novus #2 to remove haziness/fine scratches and make it shiny again.

Cool lil tank. With a lot of buffing, you should be able to get that tank back to pristine condition.

Thank for the Novus recommendation. I just got the tank, it is build tough, it uses 1/2 inch thick acrylic and is just 1 gallon I think. Would you recommend hand polishing or using a machine.

Np. Go with hand polish, easier to work with and more control IMO.

I was reading other thread that did not recommend goo gone because it had petroleum distilled, but they recommend wd-40 wish also has that. After using it, I clean it with soapy water and let water run for a long time to get everything off. Goo gone worked great it even add a bit of a shine. Now I am waiting for the Novus #2 to get here so I can make it shine like a true Diamond

Damn, made that look good already. I remember that tank, was tempted to get one myself. Reason it was built like a brick shit house was it was intended as a temperate tank. Now hurry up and get Rembrandt 1&2 going.

Looking great bro!! Now buff the sh*t out of that thing it'll be as good as new, buffing will also remove any leftover goo gone residue back to reef safe :)

I already have a plan for it, taking shape in my mind, inspired by the monolith of the movie 2001 Space Odyssey. I am going to have a acrylic wall magnetically attached to the back wall, filled with the most colorful zoanthid I can find. And the bottom maybe a gsp coral carpet attached to some acrylic to. No sand, no live rock(live rock is so 21 Century). And no dead spots, so no spot for debris to get stuck on and create a problem.

I just finished building the stand and hopefully the first 5 layer of primer will go on tomorrow.

It has arrived, my little polishing kit (funny because the bottle are almost as tall as the tank), I order it from Amazon and did their prime membership trial and I have to admit it got here pretty quick.
