ryno920 Posted August 31, 2015 Share Posted August 31, 2015 I have a 6x39 watt Tek Elite fixture over a 40 breeder and I am looking to gut the middle four bulbs and replace them with LEDs. I was looking to go with the 24 piece solderless kit from RapidLED. Would a 2:1 RB to NW ratio work, and what T5 bulbs should I go with to supplement? Is there a better combination that I should look into? I've seen a number of T5/LED combo builds, but most seem to use four bulbs, I'd like to keep mine at two to keep replacement costs down. bdevillier19 Posted September 3, 2015 Share Posted September 3, 2015 I am now the owner of jedimasterben's last led/t5 brain child and I can tell you from first hand experience, use the nanobox v3 pucks (which I'm sure been helped develop) or replicate what he did with my light. the color of my light is amazing. I have had people come see my tank and assume I was using MH on my tank, especially when the t5s are not on. Link to comment
