nanoreefer15
Are there any good kits or guides on how to build a refugium? I'd like to plumb one to a IM Nuvo 20 or 25 and grow chaeto and Copepods/mysis and fan worms. Maybe plumb it in the shelf below the display tank? Thanks, this whole refugium thing is really confusing and I really need help! Link to comment
seabass
You could do a small fuge using an inTank media basket. Otherwise you'll need an overflow and a return. Link to comment
nanoreefer15
You could do a small fuge using an inTank media basket. Otherwise you'll need an overflow and a return. Thanks! If I were to use just a bare 10 gallon tank (no chambers, as in a full sump) how would I build the overflow and return? I know that it means that water from the display flows down into the fuge, circulated throughout it, and then gets sucked back up into the tank via the return, but how exactly do I do that? Also, I'd like to mention that I'd like to make the fuge aesthetically pleasing as well, like another display. A nice design of rock, algae, and mangroves, so I'd like the overflow/return system to be as unobtrusive as possible. Thanks again for your advice! Link to comment
seabass
You can drill the rear chamber. Or, you could use a PVC siphon overflow: http://www.nano-reef.com/topic/232823-sump-without-drilling/ Something like: Link to comment
