My indecisive Reef

Recommended Posts

A few years ago my fiancé gave me the awesome news that she was pregnant and we were going to be joined by a baby girl, this meant that since I didn't have a tank running, I wouldn't be setting one up so I could spend as much time with her as possible.

A month ago or so I setup a 10g Fusion for my dad in his office and every time my baby girl see it, she sprints over yelling fishy fishy and well, I didn't need any more convincing than that.....

This is where the indecisiveness comes into play, knowing I would be moving into a home we will purchase in two years ( Orange beach i hope, Austin TX more likely lol ) I decided that AIO would be easier when it came to moving and narrowed the options down a little.

10g, 20g, 30g, 40g and then the new 25g from IM were all thoughts, the JBJ 30 and then getting a custom 24x24x12 were also on the list and for the life of me i couldn't decide......Until a deal popped up that I couldn't turn down and I ended up with a JBJ 30 RL.

So the planning begins - FYI - This won't see water until Nov 1st, so it may be a little boring at first, ill fill it with my dads office tank and stripper pics to keep you interested.

Equipment List - Most already purchased and planning for SPS mixed reef

JBJ 30 RL w/Custom stand

6x24 ATI Powermodule - The OG so no LED's in the unit....Yet...

Tunze 9004 Skimmer

Neo Therm 100w Heater

Tunze 6025

RODI Unit - 75gpd 5 stage

Tunze Nano ATO

Apex

MP10

I'm in the process of getting the stand built as I would like it to be 38" Tall and the one it came with was only 29", not sure what kind of human wants the stand 29" but it isn't this one so a new one was needed....I will keep this thread updated with my progress but hoping that I can get the live rock cured and all equipment purchased so when the move dates comes I can get everything moved in a ready to go.......I'd say stay tuned but this is more of a to be continued...

Nice! Get the InTank media baskets- they are double the size of the stock baskets and super high quality. It's an easy way to double your filteration :)

Thanks Harry....I will for sure be getting one InTank basket that I will run on the left side and the right side I am going to slide the Tunze 9004 in, $50 locally so I couldn't pass it up.

Here are a few pics since this is going to be a slow one.

Excuse the iPhone pics and the dirty glass on the tank but I thought this thread needed some pics :)
