It's been 3 weeks

Been away from my reef for 3 weeks and I am missing it dearly. All I have is the occasional snap chat from my roomie. Luckily nothing has died and everything looks good! Definitely going to need a filter media/ large water change when I get back. Anybody leave their tanks for periods of time?

I did a 10 day trip earlier this month. Had a neighbor feeding my fish. Came back to a dirty algae mess, but everything survived.

I left mine for 7 days. Set the house a/c to cycle on and ofg. Auto top off for water. And 0 feedings. Everything survived just fine. But I usually go a week no hands in the tank. Just feedings and water change and cleaning once a week

We had someone feed and top off our tank for 4 days (10 gallons, live rock, CUC, 2 clowns) and came back to a green mess. the fish made it though, and thats why nobody touches the big tank, it can take care of itself. lol

It's hard to trust neighbors and roomies. My roomie said my snake bit him when trying to feed her and she has never bit me ever...

I left my tank system, one reef and one seahorse tank for 11 days this summer to do a motorcycle roadtrip. The reef i knew would be fine but the ponies eat 2Xs a day. Also i do big water changes 20-30 gallons a week on the 65 gallon system, (both tank are hooked together by sharing the sump). I was nervous but decided if I can't be free to enjoy my other hobbies then I need to adjust my aquariums to less needy animals. It took some planning but worked out fine.

If someone isn't familiar with feeding snakes and gets their hand between the food and the snake, or doesn't present it right, they're gonna get bit.

There's a sensor. Just put the sensor in, put the pump in some RODI, done.

IMO the best ATO for your $$ is a Tunze Nano. At $99, it's super reliable and easy to set up
