nanoreefz
Hey Nano-Reef!! Been on here a couple months now and finally starting a build thread! Just bought a new IM Fusion 10 and am getting that ready for action. Tearing down my biocube because I'm tired of it. So far I have the tank, rock and sand all in it. Going to put a piece of my old rock once I dip it to get rid of the evil bristle worms...they destroyed a lot of my coral. Going to be pairing it with my Nanobox Tide and MP10 that I have on the biocube and the inTank media basket that I purchased last week as well!! Hope you guys follow along and will be excited to add the goodies I have planned not sure if the link will work for the picture. If not I'll have to attach it a different way https://www.flickr.com/gp/134620160@N05/e5N6TZ 1 Quote Link to comment

I was going to just add one piece just to get some bacteria in here, didn't want to have to cycle anything. Got the picture to upload! 1 Quote Link to comment

nanoreefz
whats your water parameters? Going to probably test tomorrow. Added water and a little bit of sand from my old tank so there shouldn't be any big cycle at all. Rehomed my fire fish for right now just in case. Quote Link to comment
Drew11
What are you running your mp10 on? I have one on my IM 10 also and I've been messing with the different settings to see what I like best as well as my coral. 1 Quote Link to comment

Will you be adding an ATO? I think it's absolutely necessary in nano tanks and even big tanks. Good luck! 1 Quote Link to comment

I need to find a better mode I think, need to get it just right so I can actually use it haha Good start! I also have a fusion 10g, MP10 and minitide. Cool. Will you be adding an ATO? I just currently top it off daily. 1 Quote Link to comment

nanoreefz
Nothing much to report. Last testing done showed around a 10 for nitrates and 0 for ammonia and nitrites. Ca was a nice 460. Did a water change two days ago. Trying to pick up something this weekend but we will see. Got a wedding to pay for coming soon lol! But here's a happy plate! 1 Quote Link to comment

nanoreefz
In need of help!!! So yesterday I bought several frags from my LFS and after acclimating them put them in the tank. I used some two part sticks (one purple and one a brownish color) that I've used before for mounting. So I'm not sure if the sticks were too old or what but they monti caps that I bought would just not stick. So I'm not sure if I made them too mad but they started sliming, which is expected. So this morning I woke up to my one fish dead and everything else covered in slime. Only thing I did besides adding the frags was changing one of the two Chemi-pure nano packets. Please help thanks all! Quote Link to comment
Droy008
Sorry to hear about your loss. Have you checked all water perameters? I've heard of the sps engaging in chemical warfare, just not sure a little frag could do in the whole tank. Also what type of epoxy did you use, maybe it was releasing toxins? Quote Link to comment
hooligan_78
I've had some bad experiences with epoxy. I stick to super glue. Might be the epoxy, might have been coral toxins. Extra carbon to help that. Quote Link to comment
ninjamyst
hey there, congrats on the marriage! sorry to hear about the issues going on with the tank. which LFS did you go? I only use superglue because epoxy is so messy. 1 Quote Link to comment

I've heard of the sps engaging in chemical warfare, just not sure a little frag could do in the whole tank. Also what type of epoxy did you use, maybe it was releasing toxins? Water params seemed to be in check. Nitrates were a tad high because we've had so much to do since coming back from our honeymoon. My New Years resolution is to be much better about just keeping up with the simple stuff with the tank and get on a better schedule with it. The tubes of clay are the two part you mix together to stick it to the rock. I've had some bad experiences with epoxy. I stick to super glue. Might be the epoxy, might have been coral toxins. Extra carbon to help that.Yea they were so slimy and not happy I was wondering if the cap could do that much damage in a 10 gallon tank. Super glue is my go to from now on! hey there, congrats on the marriage! sorry to hear about the issues going on with the tank. which LFS did you go? I only use superglue because epoxy is so messy. Thanks ninja!! I went to this place called Beyond the Reef. My go to LFS. They have great stuff and for a decent price. There's a couple more I like going to like Reefwise and a new place I haven't gone to get called Seven Seas in Mt. Prospect. They have really really nice pieces there! I am debating on if I want to get rid of the rocks and go for a new scape with more places to put coral. The big rock I think is too steep and doesn't really have flat places to mount anything. 1 Quote Link to comment
