piano15
I lucked out to get a 10g IM fusion. Hubby is currently building the stand. We want to replace the original pump so we can get more flow with the spin stream nozzle. Can anyone recommend a decent pump that will fit but not cost a fortune? Also with the media tray, whats the best way to layout the media bag and floss? Floss on top tray then carbon or vice versa? I've never had an aio so this is all new to us. Any suggestions and help is appreciated Link to comment

Heres a great thread that i was reading... IM Fusion 10 http://www.nano-reef.com/topic/352290-kyles-10g-nuvo-fusion/ Link to comment

Any suggestions and help is appreciated I placed the filter floss / filter pad on top and carbon/phosguard on the bottom, that way it increases the amount of detritus being filtered before it gets into your other chambers and back into the tank or just collecting somewhere until you siphon it out. Balix
Rio compact 300 should do the trick and also adjustable. The stock pump is not that bad if you plan on having a powerhead in there too. I bought the MJ900 and it was too much for my fire fish so it hid in the cave all week. But it all depends what you have in there. Filter floss > carbon > purigen is what I have in my IM custom caddy. Link to comment
piano15
Thank you all for the help. When you say mj900 is that the maxijet? I was thinking of going with the 400. Is this the pump? 'M trying to figure out the gph I should get as I'll be using the spin stream nozzle for my current. Link to comment
Balix
Get the cobalt version rather than maxi jet. MJ400 is 106 gph but using the spin stream will reduce that. I would get the MJ600 or Rio compact 300 since you can adjust that one with the slider switch. Link to comment
piano15
I never see rio's here. Common pumps seen in lfs is marineland maxijet, aquaclear, eheim. What is the cobalt version? Link to comment
