davea
hi all just upgraded to a fluval m90 from a 10 gallon tank, and just wanted a few opinions on my aquascaping or anything else for that matter. i'm beginning to think i may have too much rock! Link to comment
ManGups
Sweet tank ... I have an M60. If u don't mind - how much did u run u in dollars? As for the aqua scape .. How abt some empty space in the middle ? 2 piles or rock on the left and right staggered front and back .. It will give more depth in the tank. Also try keep one pile smaller than the other. There is an auascapping thread here - search for it and it will give u an idea what I am talking abt. Link to comment
davea
thanks for the reply, yeah i was looking at the middle myself but the big chunks of rock i have have coral on the rock itself so didn't want to remove if possible but i'll have a look and see once my newer rock is more established it cost me about £500 so i guess in usd it would be just under $800 Link to comment
Markburns43
sweet I like the m90 I'm glad more peopke are setting them up. As for rock yes take that middle piece and try to incorporate somewhere far right left bottom left ornright or remove if youncan it'll look like a cool mountain range, Link to comment
charnelhouse
Personally I kind of like the way it looks. It isn't exactly "rule of thirds" but I think it deviates from it in an aesthetic way. And it seems like it has become law that aquascapes must be "two island" arranged. Link to comment
davea
thanks both, i like the way it looks (obviously because i built it ) but in reflection i just had a niggling thought that maybe because of the high rocks on the left hand side it would hinder the waterflow and create dead spots but i have switched the powerheads around and this seems to have eradicated the bigger dead spots Link to comment
