OCNcheffy
I currently run a Nuvo 16g tank and I have two small percula clownfish, and a bicolor blenny. I also have a cleaner shrimp as well. I definitely want something that will be out in the open and swim around pretty constantly. Any suggestions? I had thought maybe the following: - Two Yellow Tail Damsel - Firefish (Would it be an issue with a blenny?) -Small Wrasse -Royal Gramma (Issue with blenny?) -Cardinal Fish Thanks Link to comment

2 f15hy 4u
I think you're better off just keeping with what you have. Your clownfish will probably pick on anything that's added, and if you get anything aggressive enough to deal with the clowns it will most likely pick on your blenny. The display area of the tank isn't 16 gallons either, keep that in mind. Link to comment
HarryPotter
Our of that list I would pick a Cardinal fish. Link to comment
Murphs_Reef
Yeah the cardinal might work well, but I would mix things up n move rock work around a bit... Link to comment
charnelhouse
As long as the wrasse you are thinking of is a pygmy (wetmorella sp.), you would probably be ok with it, as long as the clowns don't take offense to its existence. Any other wrasse in that tank would be a very bad idea. Link to comment

Any other wrasse in that tank would be a very bad idea. I had a sixline at one time but he fought my clowns when I got my two new black perculas. I sold off the wrasse after the 2 hours of trying to catch him.. I did love that fish though as it had a great personality and looked wicked. I'll look into these smaller pygmy wrasse as he'd be going into their territory instead of the other way around. They look great too. Link to comment
jedimasterben
2 damsels are out if the question Why is that? Link to comment
Murphs_Reef
Why is that? 2 clowns and 2 yellow tail damsels in a 16 gallon? Clowns in established territory? That's pretty much the image of sending 2 English guys fully kitted out in English football strips into a bar in govan (Glasgow) it's not going to end up in every one sharing a kebab.... jedimasterben
I have indeed Then you know that they are nothing like their Dascyllus cousins. They are peaceful fish, incredibly peaceful compared to the 'damsels' that most start their tanks with. Of course you have outliers, but in general, they are beautiful, active, and won't beat the shit out of your other tankmates. Link to comment
Murphs_Reef
Hmmm, in my view the 4 will just scrap... Link to comment

I might look for some because they are beautiful Link to comment

I have a Cryptic Wrasse. Great fish. The skunk clowns would not be able to handle the addition of any other damsels. Too territorial. Link to comment

Yellowtails (C. parasema), Kupang (C. hemicyanea), Springer's (C. springeri), and Talbot's (C. talboti) are the ones you'd want to look at. Avoid the entire Dascyllus genus, and Pomacentrus are kind of in the middle, but I'd probably still avoid them for a nano reef. http://www.advancedaquarist.com/2011/5/fish Link to comment

If you plan on housing them and only them or other extremely aggressive fish and no inverts, then you'll be OK. Link to comment

jedimasterben
Wow. Pricey little Damsel Worth every penny unless you get them from Blue Zoo. Lost almost 40 fish due to an order from Blue Zoo bringing in brooklynella, and they continue to blame it on me not paying for Saturday shipping so I could drive an hour to pick it up.
