First try at photographing the night sky

Last night was the peak night for the meteor shower and I wanted to try and capture an image or two. It was a lot of trial and error but got a couple of "ok" shots.

The picture of the milky way was shot south but I got a lot of light spill over from the neighbors house so it blew out the trees and the second image captured one of the meteors. Last image has a plane going through it, if you look closely you can see the beacon lighting up.

Pretty neat; I meant to go check that shower out. It's amazing how much light there is in residential neighborhoods. But luckily, it only about a 15 minute drive for us to get into some darker areas.

I would die if I could see the milky way with my naked eye. Light pollution where I live sucks, but that meteor shower was still pretty amazing. Gorgeous stuff.
