PicoSavvy
Hopefully I can get the stand done by this weekend depending on the weather since there maybe a hurricane coming my way. If all goes to plan by next week it should see water. It been getting derail mainly due to to my other hobbies and now school. But after I get everything running it should be able to take care of itself for a month without any input from me, so it won't add to the busy schedule. I am personally in no hurry, since I been planning Rembrandt for a long time and want to try to get everything right. Link to comment
BRN
Nice, what are your plans for livestock? Link to comment
PicoSavvy
Apart from sps. Any extremely small fish I can find that is reef safe, sub 1 inch (most likely a goby) but for now it is going to be mainly a coral focus tank. (Planing Rembrandt 2 while setting up Rembrandt 1) Link to comment
BRN
Yellow head jaw fish are pretty cool, minimum tank size is 1 gallon. Might be a little bigger than 1 inch, but they burrow in the sand anyway. Link to comment
BRN
Two hammers i bought the other day, they are just babies now. Hopefully they will get nice and strong because they look awesome. This one has red tips on some of the hammers, it looks cool. The mother coral was legit the most crazy hammer ive seen in a while. I should of taken pictures i wasn't thinking I also picked up a friend for my Yellow Watchman Goby, a Tiger Pistol. They were instantly best friends. The YWG escort service while the tiger forages for something to eat. Just a small update, more to come definitely... Vodka dosing schedule should be up within the next week. Happy Reefing. BRN
Tanks are looking good man! Been wanting to get one of those shrimp goby, I have a candy pistol but no goby Thank you so much, goby shrimp pairs are hilarious! They clouded my water up for about 2 days. Its clear now, so they just shuffle around together. I would highly recommend a pairing of these magnificent creatures to anyone. ALSO, you are tempting me to buy your 5.5 gallon sump kit! ITS SO NICE!!! i was thinking about sumping my future 17 gallon Mr. Aqua when i take my 5.5 gallon down, there would be no wasting my 5.5 gallon then... Link to comment
PicoSavvy
Thanks for the fish recommendation bro and great looking hammers. Tell me how the volka dosing goes, I thought about doing that on Rembrandt to, to get a super low nutrient system, for awesome sps color. Sump that 17 gallon, can never go wrong by adding a sump. Thanks! Hammers are looking pretty good, now i need a torch! Ya ill be keeping track of the vodka dosing with a notebook i dosed .01ml today over 8 hours or something crazy, this nano doser rock! I was thinking about getting that yellow jawfish too; are you going to get one? I think im going to add a sump for a heavier bioload system too. PS - get some corals in that tank!!!! I'm itching to see them in there! Link to comment
PicoSavvy
Still haven't decided on the fish yet just focusing on the corals for now. Sump are awesome they add stability to the whole system, that one of the reasons I sump my pico, that and it hides all the equipment away from the display tank, good thing because I have a maze of wire and tubes. Chiller, doser, return pump, drain and return pump, air pump for the skimmer and soon a reactor and sensor wire. Yea the nano doser are great, when I first got them and tested them to see they function properly, I was amazed at how slow you can get the drip rate Link to comment
BRN
The nano doser is amazing i can't thank you enough... One question, why go though so much for a pico, like are you just testing your limits or are you trying to automate it enough so it doesn't require maintenance? I mean either way it really doesn't matter its going to be SICK regardless. Link to comment
PicoSavvy
A little of both, when limits are set on me, I work day and night until I brake them. It is like that for my other hobbies to, when I got my first car (old honda civic) the next day I was taking the piston out and boring the engine block, I did not stop adding to it until it was giving me a nice 600 hp. Apart from that automation played a big part on why I added so much to Rembrandt since sometime I am not able to get to it, I want it to still be able to care for itself, specially if I finally decide on going to the navy, I want try to automate it for 6 month, but for now 3 weeks to a month works for me. PicoSavvy
Yea definitely a pico fan, I was always attracted to the idea of a pico. I kept downgrading from a 125 and downgrading until I end up with a 1.5 gallon tank. Link to comment

BRN
What are you planning for the pico A macro algae emerald crab tank with gsp, mushrooms, and maybe another type of coral i cant decide yet. I just need a media basket because i just threw my media in the back and its probably not efficient. Something to fit in the back right of this thing. Link to comment
PicoSavvy
Cool. What media are you using in it, I was planning on running gfo and carbon on my pico, but every time I calculate how much I need I get stupid small quantities of both, I think it was 10 ml of carbon and 7 ml of gfo imagine how small the reactor would be Link to comment
BRN
Ghetto media setup, i hate it. Cool. What media are you using in it, I was planning on running gfo and carbon on my pico, but every time I calculate how much I need I get stupid small quantities of both, I think it was 10 ml of carbon and 7 ml of gfo imagine how small the reactor would be Purigen, Carbon, Seagel (Carbon and phosguard), and the black filter sponge. After i get the media basket set up i might remove the filter sponge and put a mame skimmer in there. Link to comment
PicoSavvy
Skim that pico, can't go wrong with a sexy mame skimmer. Hell I would put it up front in the display it that sexy. Link to comment

Side note i found a funny way to clean the skimmer without taking it out of the tank...Cerith smails; small ones. One of them buggers got into the skimmer over night and he almost has it cleaned....wtf Link to comment
