I am sorry but I can't seem to take my eyes off of your setup photos. In fact, I am trying to set up my light the same way as your. Just need to get two reef rite first. Seriously, really like your setup.

Thanks. I am currently contemplating on adding (2) 15" Reef Brite XHO strips on the side of the fixture but my wife keeps telling me not to. I honestly feel that my tank can handle it since it is now taking a full force of 8 T5 bulbs and (2) 24" Reef Brite XHO (36 total LEDs). Another 24 Blue LEDs shouldn't hurt; at least I hope not.

Update:

-I had an algae issue that drove me mad but has been reduced to algae only on my rocks which tells me that I have phosphate in my live rock. Only way to fix that is to let it leech out.

-My tailspot blenny is killing my largest colony of SPS. It started with eating algae on one of the tips that died due to being slight under an overhang. It now just nips at all the tips which makes the tissue recede further each day. At this point the whole colony has dead tips. I will have to frag it down.

-One of my female flame wrasses decided to jump out the tank when it and another one was fighting for dominance. The winner has changed into a full blown male. So now I am down to just the male and 1 female. I may add another female in the future.

-I added a yellow tang for my algae control. It has been doing a pretty good job keeping the algae on any frags plugs at bay.

-My tank has developed an aptasia issue. I tried Aptasia-X but it was no good. I now have atleast 10 I can see. I added an Aptasia Eating Filefish to try and combat them. After I done with it or if it doesn't do as intended, I will trade it to the LFS and, if necessary, swap for a Copperband Butterfly fish.

-I will be change back to the Maxspect Gyre 130s. I will be adding two to my tank and run them at the lowest setting. I am doing this because my Jebao RWs suddenly stop working. It was between this and the Neptune wav. The pumps arrive Thursday.

-I purchased the AWC DC Pump kit to my Pacific Sun Kore 5th Pro Doser and it has since been doing daily water changes for a total of 15 Gals weekly.

-I purchased a new camera and sold my old Nikon D3300. I decided to get the Canon 70D instead of the Canon 7D MK II. I got a great deal on the camera and couldn't refuse it. I had the chance to play with one before hand and fell in love. It will be here Thursday as well so pics of the tank will be coming soon.

So UPS screwed up and sent my camera to Virginia Beach, VA. The origin of the package was actually an hour and 47 mins away. It was cheaper to ship than to drive and pick up but I am paying for it by waiting an extra day because UPS dropped the ball.

On more cheerful note, my two Maxspect Gyre 130s came in today!

I got them installed and very happy with that decision. I essentially have 2 pumps that work like 4 pumps do to the fact I can rotate cages in any direction.

My blenny continues to decimate one of my sps colonies, I can't catch the little f....r. Eventually, I will have to prune the dead portions.

I decided to play around with my Canon 70D which I am enjoying more and more! I took some pics while only my (2) ReefBrite XHO Fixtures are on.

I didn't believe it either at first until I caught him in the act. He eats more meaty foods than algae. In the end, I lost the colony because it took too much damage and started RTNing so I tossed the whole thing.

Thanks!!

Upgrading soon! Talked my wife into getting a bigger tank. I was looking at the Cadlights Versa 68G and think it may fit my idea of the new tank. I would only have to get new lights to fit the length; everything else will easily transfer over. I wanted bigger but since I am on the second floor of an apartment, it just isn't possible.

I kind want to do something new with this tank while transferring my old system corals and equipment over. I want to go skimmerless. I am thinking of doing a refugium or doing a sump full of the marinepure 8x8x4 blocks.

Update:

-The male ventralis Anthia is doing great and eating Reef Nutrition Tisbe pods. He is still afraid of me though but he is starting to come around. I had to setup my camera and take an image remotely:

-My black and white colonial tunicate has started to perish (turning completely black) after I placed some Seachem Matrix Carbon into my filter sock. My acans have shriveled in as well. I believe the carbon has been grinded to an extent and it is floating in my tank which is affecting some of my corals.

Awesome! Upgrades are always good. Looking forward to seeing the new build come together.

New build may not happen anytime soon. I have to find another tank. Cadlights just called and informed me they were out of the stands with a black finish and won't have anymore till end of January which means February will be when I would have gotten the tank.

Wow you really do have some absolutely beautiful corals! Can't wait to see what you do with the new tank you have in mind.

Thanks! The new build isn't going to happen. Cadlights dropped the ball and I am still in the process of trying to get my money back from them. When I ordered the tank, they had the black stand in stock. A few days later I got a call that they no longer had any black stands and was recommended to take either the espresso or white stand but I declined so I asked for a refund and have yet to get it.

Despite that, I rescaped my tank and feel a lot better about the placement and room to grow (reason for wanting to upgrade) so a new FTS to come soon!

Beautiful pictures and lovely tank.

What lens (lenses) are you shooting? I have a Canon 6D and do a lot of portrait work, so I have all primes. 35, 50, 85, 135. I got a cheap set of extension tubes to try out (once the tank has water) but haven't yet. Just curious what your doing cause it's working!

Thanks! I just use the stock lens with my Canon 70D. I will soon purchase a dedicated macro later on this year.

Nice! Especially with the glass it comes with. Wouldn't have guessed.

Are you doing much in Lightroom or any post-processing?
