outerorbiter
Anyone have any tips on catching a fire shrimp. I've had them in the past but this one is to greedy. It will pick the food out of the corals and even grabs my goby and tries to open its mouth. Tried to feed the shrimp first but it doesn't help. Link to comment
Benny314
Bottle trap? Cut the neck off a bottle and turn it back into the bottle base, bait it and leave it next to the shrimps hang out. If he's that greedy it shouldn't take long for him to climb into the bottle and then he will struggle to get back out before you lift the bottle out. Link to comment
Hammerstone
A good bait and food for the CUC and Pygmy Angels too are the algae wafers that are made for feeding Plecostamus in fresh water. My shrimp and hermit crabs fight over them. Shrimp always win and take the whole disk to their hiding place. Unfortunately bristleworms like them too and are pretty quick at stealing them. I'd bet you money you'd catch your shrimp with it. They are the Hikari brand. Good Luck!! Link to comment
RK_tek
Bottle traps have always worked for me. Usually within 10-15 minutes or less Link to comment
outerorbiter
He is a greedy fool so I will give the bottle trap a try first. Think a regular soda bottle or somthing with a bigger hole like a gatorade bottle would be better? Just looks like the soda bottle would be hard to get into. Link to comment
kimberbee
I used a cylinder shaped vase to catch mine. Lured him in with a baster full of food, and lifted the vase as he went in. Done in seconds. Link to comment
outerorbiter
Ok used the bottle trap and before I even let go the shrimp jumped in. Back at the store and I have two new frags! Link to comment
