Difference between Versa and Artisan II?

I believe the versa only comes with sump, return pump, glass tops, and cabinet. The Artisan II comes with a skimmer and everything the Versa comes with.

I saw them both and RAP in NJ and bought the 70 Artisan. The Artisan stand is better and overall Id say they are nicer but the Versas were still a nice tank and great value.

Skimmer is optional in all models of CAD.

Yeah I know that but for an additional cost. I artisan comes with a skimmer included in the package no additional costs.

Dims, quality of cabinet, and versa has one drain one return in a corner overflow, artisan 2 drains (Aprox 1" main and 1/2 emergency) and one return in a trapezoid center overflow. Versa uses standard sch40 plumbing and artisan uses sch60 upvc or rigid pvc (not regular sizes.) that's about it.

Hi, Mccorvic

Thank you for your post.

Since the 8 years of its release the Artisan Series aquariums has many of the Luxury features and the best of everything we do from material, craftsmanship, equipment, styling, design etc. so it will be an All-inclusive system such as fully equipped (Skimmer, reactors, DC pumps etc.), custom made hand painted furniture cabinets (Fully built). all the rating is for a fully loaded (Medium to heavy loaded reef). The Artisan aquariums most closely resemble our full custom made aquarium installs even including professional Herbie drains.

Released since last April (2014) The Versa on the other hand aims at featuring many of the Artisan design model such as the Rimless sharp style, Starfire glass, external sump, Modern minimalist cabinetry styles etc. including all of the most essentials.

From there it goes its own way of being a package that lets customers choose their own upgrades in the industry or some of their current equipment such as skimmer, reactor, refugium etc.. The Versa sump is designed to be more spacious than the Artisan to allow more open space compatibility. another design feature of the Versa is that it uses marine grade MDF Formica flat packed cabinets instead of fully built Maplewood hand painted Artisan cabinets and these 2 things help to make it a more cost effective overall product without sacrificing any of the quality and function.

that's kind of the overview of both.

Thanks so much

Scott
