Heat Transfer

So I plan to set up a new nano in a few weeks when I move for school and have been acquiring all the equipment and things ahead of time so I can start the cycle as soon as I get up to Gainesville. My question is about whether my current stand I purchased off craigslist is too enclosed to let enough heat dissipate from the sump/refugium. The only equipment that will be running in the sump, which is a 20L, will be the heater and return pump, ATO, and maybe in the future if water changes aren't enough a protein skimmer. But as of now I do not want to run a protein skimmer if water changes will suffice. I just worry about the shelf location not letting enough air circulation occur. I would like to keep the shelf where it's at because I want to put a couple cheap strip LEDs for some mangroves and macroalgae. So what do you guys think, think I will have any issues with air circulation? Thanks for any input or opinions!

Yeah I have cabinet doors on the front but the rear of the cabinet is completely open but will be up against a wall with the obvious gaps for power cords and the mame overflow plumbing to and from the sump.

If it gets to hot you could always cut a hole in the doors and put a decorative vent plate from lowes over the holes. Or do it on the sides.

Haha I would be completely all for that idea but I don't know how well that would go over with the girlfriend... I am really hoping that it will get enough circulation with the back being completely open and there are small gaps in the cabinet doors. Overheating I learned the first round of keeping a nano tank is hard to overcome down here in Florida, I ended up having to run a chiller and am really hoping to negate that with LEDs instead of a 150w metal halide/t-5 combo.

Should be fine I have a 20 gallon sump on my 45 and it is just as enclosed. I do have a fan hooked to my apex to come on at a certain temp but it very rarely runs.

Awesome, yeah I plan to just watch temp excessively while cycling which will be the hottest time of the year down here so if I notice it getting up there I will end up trying a fan
