I am a total noob when it comes to coral! i have owned a pulse coral in the past and that worked but i just bought a GSP frag. It was open for the first 2 days but now it hasn't opened for the past 3. I have moderate flow and good lighting but they aren't opening!!! DX maybe one or 2 polyps are open at a time. I have seen my camel shrimp on them once but i shood him off and he hasn't been on since. IDK what to do! Plz Help! srry for my noobiness haha :)

What are your prameters on your water? Could still be getting used to your tank. GSP is normally tolerant to about any water conditions and flow. When I had some in a previous tank they pretty much got blasted with a pump 24/7 and they were happy as could be.

GSP are dam near impossible to kill first off. Do not worry about your camel shrimp going on it, my skunk shrimp crawls all over mine and now they are used to it. My GSP has closed up for up to 3 weeks before and then they open back up even longer/bigger than before. 3 days is nothing for GSP to be closed up, just make sure you don't mess with it or you'll piss it off, just let it be.

Reef weeds. Dont worry about it. They can take up to a week or longer to come back from being buggered. And trust me if you only have one polyp survive you will have many, many, many 6 months later. I wish someone told me when I got started to avoid GSP, and Xenia. They are a bit invasive. I wish I never put GSP and Xenia in my tank. I am constantly giving it away, giving it to the LFS or flushing it down the toilet. If you like them keep at it but as you get more into the hobby you will find them to be an a PITA. Just some thoughts.

GSP likes flow make sure it's somewhere it doesn't move and has plenty of water movement. Like they have said above don't move it, and preferably place it separated from the rest of the rock work, like on its own island...

Of GSP and XENIA ;)

The good thing about GSP compared to Xenia is that they don't drop polyps and spread all over the tank. Asong as you keep them isolated they are good. I had them on my glass and on a 10"x6" rock in the sand. Mine looked like tall grass blowing in the wind.

Seemsike if you blast them the fingers on the polyps get longer and more wavy.
