Do I need to support the overflow pipes?

I have a 29 gallon display tank drilled for 1 bulkheads. Do I need to add something to the stand to support the pipes or can the glass/bulkhead handle the weight?

A pic of how you have it set up would be helpful. Generally you don't need a support but if you have some crazy setup you may!

I'm planning to put a manifold in the return loop and will be attaching the mess to the stand.

I doubt you'll need a support. If it's visibly flexing the glass, then maybe, but 29 gallons typically have thick enough glass where that isn't a problem.

It has about 6 feet of 1 inch pvc along with 2 flow valves and a tee. I just attached it to the stand to be safe.

Prudent! Sure they will harmless hang there for years. But the one time you forget those are only attached to a piece of 1/4" glass and you slid or move something resulting in bumping, twist or pulling the drain pipes you end up with this. My 40b after I had to move the tank to fix an electrical issue. While I was sliding it back into position I pushed it to far and the ball value hit the wall putting pressure on the bulkhead. Luckily the tank was partially drained and Petco had their $1 a gallon sale going on. I was back up and running in 24hrs.

Bulkheads should be supported so you do not stress the bulkhead or glass.

I know this is an old thread but I have seen many people use these to keep the pipes supported.
