Hig789
I have been debating a IM desktop reactor for my tank as a way to run carbon since I have no easy way of putting a media basket in the back. Can you run phosban and other media in it? I guess I assumed you can run carbon in it. Just looking for a way to run some media in my tank figured this would be the easiest way instead of a extensive project in the rear chamber while the tank is running. Can I have some opinions on the IM and possibly others. I like the small footprint of the IM. Link to comment

Hig789
Thanks Harry. Just need to find one now. Mine is a big open chamber, it will be fine to stick it right before my 9001 right? Link to comment

Marine depot has them and they come with 2 quarts of aquamaxx carbon. That brand a good? I was just going to use marine land black diamond since I can get it locally. Link to comment
khuzdul
If you can, put it after the Tunze 9001 and if possible behind filter media so that detritus does not get into the pump / reactor and clog up the water flow. The cleaner the water going to it, the less frequently you wiil need to clean it / adjust the flow, though adjusting the flow is not as important for running just carbon as you don't tumble the carbon to prevent clumping. PicoSavvy
Not trying to hijack the thread, just got a question. Does anyone know how high the holes are in the desktop unit I know the total height of the unit is 11.4 inch but what it the height up to the holes. I been debating on getting one but my sump is only 8 inches tall so I don't know if it is tall enough Link to comment

Also I have a brand new one still in the box 75 dollars shipped if anyone wants it PM me. Not trying to hijack the thread, just got a question. So 8 inches tall will never be a problem. Your sump could be 4 inches tall with no problem. Link to comment
