eodmike
What are the thoughts on removing the bottom frame on the spec v then carving a recess of equal size into wood and using that as the ring? I'm thinking of doing it but don't want to make my tank leak. Link to comment
Newstead
Would love to see it if you do it. I have one I use for quarantine, I would be worried about the integrity - it doesn't appear to be extra sturdy. Link to comment
tibbsy07
I think it would be better to leave the bottom frame on, and build your stand to fit around that to hide the parts you don't like. Removing the frame on tanks is just a structural risk I don't think is a good idea. It can work around the top or something, but the base of the tank seems too risky. At best it'll fit in your stand, at worst, your tank falls apart and floods everything. Link to comment
