Sancho
This thing has been in my tank for a while anyone know what it is. Tentacles come out when I feed and can be about10 inches long and they are about the size of a spider web. Link to comment
ReefWeeds
Looks like a spaghetti worm. Do you see the tentacles drawing food into the area where they all originate from? Link to comment
Sancho
I have spaghetti worms this is nothing like it it's more like a spider web. The clown just ate it down to the base and it is back again. It collects food than retracts into the rock it seems to have a circular cover. Link to comment
ReefWeeds
Huh! That's crazy! Would it be the mucous strings from a vermatid? Link to comment
amphipod
I agree it looks like a vermetid, not bad to have. But that I must say is pretty dang long for vermetid mucous. Link to comment
hey
vermetid snot comes in different sizes and different variations in shape... some comes out in a web like mass other comes in in very long fine strings. Also some vermetids are huge compared to other types. I have a few that are about 2 inches long shell size and others of a different type that are the size of a pin. They aren't the prettiest things and can irritate sps but they do keep the water column cleaner. Link to comment
