I need some acan help! (Pictures)

So I've had this acan for about 2 months and it's been doing alright. So last night I feed it some mysis shrimp and 2 of the heads ate a little and the head on the bottom ate a full piece of mysis shrimp. Everything was puffy and looked really good so I thought it was finally doing great. Well I wake up this morning and the bottom head is basically gone and showing nothing but skeleton and the other heads are starting to show a little. I need some help please!! All water parameters are fine.

poisoned Mysis? Hehe

-Water quality issue is possible. Did you actually test or are you assuming water quality is fine?

-Is there an aggressive coral nearby?

-Any recent changes to the tank? Did you do any maintenance yesterday?

-I suppose it's possible that it tried to eat too much and it's sort of turned inside out for a time (those white squiggly things are mesenterial filaments). Sometimes corals can really contract their tissues and make it look like they're dead but not really. If this is the case it will probably reject whatever it needs to and come out again within a day or so.

Since it just happened last night I would continue to carefully observe for a bit longer before taking any drastic measures. Continue to look for clues indicating what might have happened.

Yeah I actually tested my water and I do water changes every week. The only coral that is close is a GSP. I think that it may have eaten too much. I'm going to test my water again later and maybe do a water change today.

Mr. Microscope

Is it really pure skeleton, or is it just severely deflated and pressing up against the skeleton so that you can see the pointy shape of it? In general, I've found acans just do their own thing. Sometimes, they deflate for no reason and are just fine. You'll probably see it puff back up later.

Sometimes, my acans are closed up for several days at a time. I've read that it means they are growing skeleton.

I'd take the, don't panic yet- approach. Acans are very hearty corals. Just watch them for a few days to a week and see what happens. Whatever you do, don't go in there and move them. That'll definitely peeve them off and then you won't know if the symptoms were caused by you moving them, or by something more serious.

I hope it's just deflated... Right now two of the heads have their sweeper tenticals out now like they want to eat again. Should I feed them again or wait it out??

I feed mine maybe once or twice a week. They pick up food when you feed your fish. No need to spot feed daily.

Yep I have never directly fed my acans but thy do real well in my tank. Nice and puffed up and having babies. Maybe try laying off the spot feeding and see what happens when you just feed the tank.

I have tried just feeding the tank and it never really looks like it gets any food. I just want to make sure it gets enough food because this baby was not cheap!

if you feed your fish daily there is stuff floating around in the water. If the tentacles are out its a good bet its collecting stuff.
