pgrVII
Yup,don't call em weeds for nothing lol they will take off in no time. I had a 6 polyp frag cover a softballish sized rock in 6-7 months Link to comment
Clownfish2004
Is there any that they just start growing in a month. Link to comment
kirbaay
It really just depends on water quality and lighting. Some like dirty water some like clean water. Once you have an established tank and keep all the parameters the same things should be taking off. I bought some Eagle Eye zoas with 6 heads about 6 months ago and now there is easily over 100 of them Link to comment
HarryPotter
Is there any that they just start growing in a month. I would say that every week or two a new Zoa will grow. You need to be patient, Clownfish2004. Nothing good happens fast in reefing- just take your time and enjoy yourself and your beautiful aquarium. Link to comment
HarryPotter
Thanks guys. And we still want a picture Link to comment
kirbaay
I had the same questions when i started a reef tank. Since then I have learned just to let nature take its course. Like Harryjsinger said nothing good happens in reefing when you try and rush things. My tank is about to hit 1 year and things have never looked better. I can add any coral and fish now with confidence knowing that it wont die. Link to comment

HarryPotter
This coming from the guy that adds something new to his tank almost every day Hey not true! Only one day a week do I allow myself to put my hands in! (But yeah I fiddle a lot, I know. My advice still stands though ) Link to comment

My advice still stands though ) Yeah I'm just kidding. And yes... the best advice I ever got was to just kick back, relax and let it grow. Watch the parameters, make sure everything is in check and let it do is thing. Rome was not build in a day and neither was a good reef tank. Link to comment
SquishyFishy
All I had were Whammin Watermelons I got at the very beginning of the tank....over 14 months ago. I bought a standard frag plug that had 5 heads. A year later and they have made starter colonies all over my tank where ever the frag plug has rested. I have around 200 heads in various places now. I can remember the days I would count them and be surprised that there were 10 then 16 then 24 then 30...it was very exciting. I finally bought some Mean Greens and will happily await their exponential expansion! Next goal is the Rastas! I have to have some of those. Yes, sit back and enjoy! Link to comment
