Squinchy
Current setup is 2 x Mean Well ELN-60-48D with 2 x WW, 6 x CW, and 1 x Red on 1 driver, the other is running 10 x RB, 2 x Blue both drivers are running fairly low to blent the light to about 18K will 2 Par38 80° bulb's from RapidLED be overkill for this size of tank? 29G Dimensions L24 x D16 x H17 3/4" (water depth is 16 1/2") I have already purchased one bulb and am wondering if it's enough for my tank Link to comment
evilc66
Why do you want to change your current LED setup out to PAR38s? Link to comment
Squinchy
Main reason is I always wanted an open top aquarium and more silent by getting rid of the fan noise from my current light Link to comment
evilc66
If fan noise is a problem, get a quieter fan, or lower the voltage. You don't need hurricane force winds to cool the heatsink. It's surprising what a puff of air will do to reduce temperatures. And going open top with what you have shouldn't be too difficult. Don't get me wrong. PAR38's are a useful lighting tool. They just have a vastly different look (lighting distribution wise) compared to what you have. As long as you are aware of that, the choice is yours. Link to comment
