Matteo
First woke to my Rw-4 not working so there goes my main circulation, and now my potters wrasse is acting up. Laying on his side and only breathing. Yes I know he sleeps on his side and under the sand but the lights have been on for about an hour. He will get up for a second and then continue to lay down. He looks perfectly healthy not super skinny or anything. I have had him for about a month now and he was always been an active swimmer. All my other fish are fine two clowns, a royal gramma, and a mandrian. All corals sps, lps, softies, nps have full polyp extension and look happy so whats wrong with my poor wrasse:( I also have a separate bucket I culture copepods and throw in the tank every other week for food. HarryPotter
Is the broken RW4 out of the tank? If not, take it out. I would be worried about stray current Link to comment
D Z
Man, this sounds exactly like what happened when I lost my yellowtail tamarin. I never knew 100% for sure, but I attributed mine to some sort of internal parasite. You can try a freshwater dip and see how the potter responds to it. Link to comment
Matteo
he actually has been doing a lot better. starting swimming and scavenging for food again. My snowflake clown seems very concerned haha. Any time the wrasse goes into the corner behind the LR he joins him and waits for him to get back up. Link to comment
yoshii
Could have been lack of oxygen? Link to comment
ndrobey
The problem was probably stray voltage from the broken pump. With the pump unplugged, the fish is able to recover. Link to comment
Matteo
You think? It was just the magnetic motor not work. He is doing a bit better today still doing a lot of laying down then I would prefer. Got 1 day shipping on my new Jebao so I have circulation again. Also I have great surface agitation along with chaeto growing in the rear filter chamber so I doubt it was oxygen. Link to comment
Matteo
I read that potters don't do well in captivity. Leopards I guess are the way to go Link to comment
