Aqueon Modular LEDs

I wouldn't touch them. First of all, it shouldn't say that it can light any type of coral without giving a depth. If not, we could put one of these with the three bulbs on a 10 foot tall tank and it would grow zoas at the bottom of the tank... Also, each 24" tube is comprised of 12 LEDs that total all of 3 watts. So in the end you've got a 9 watt fixture with all three tubes in and that's just not going to cut it for pretty much anything.

The other thing is the price. I don't know what size tank you have but lets say a 20 long for example since it's so shallow already. $63.99 for the fixture and then another $19.99 for each additional tube so you're looking at over $100 for a light that doesn't even have a timer or way of controlling it. If you're going to go with something similar to that then just get a Current Orbit Marine. Below you can see someone who is growing SPS with that fixture. The timer is awesome and really easy to use once you get the hang of it. It's far more powerful than the Aqueon fixture but it still is underpowered when compared to kessils, radions, nanobox, etc. and you may run into problems. While I said that someone is growing SPS, I'm not sure of the species but I know that they are limited to having the coral at the very top of the tank.

To sum things up, that Aqueon fixture is good for a FOWLR tank and that's it. If you have a shallow tank and don't plan on growing high light corals then just get a Current Orbit Marine since it's far better for the price.
