holy carp
I got home yesterday evening and noticed the torch coral was more closed up than usual. The moonlight was still on, but it usually doesn't close up that much and go to bed until it's fully dark. This morning I noticed a few bits of it in the sand. As it opened when the lights came on, I could see some dark spots and what looked like a number of missing tips. Here's how it looked with and without actinics: All the corals have been in the tank for about 2.5 weeks, and this one always looked healthy. Is this the result of an attack or disease? Other corals are all a pretty good distance away... The residents are: 1 clownfish 1 orchid dottyback 1 peppermint shrimp 1 leptoseris frag 1 acro frag 1 elegans 1 torch 1 millepora frag Assorted CUC snails Temp stays within 78-80.5°F Salinity stays between 1.025 and 1.026 Any recommendations? Hig789
I don't remember where I saw it but I read somewhere that someone's clown was biting the tips of their torch like that. Wonder if it could be because the torch wouldn't host the clown or something. Link to comment
holy carp
It may have been. It continued for a couple of days and then the torch seemed to quickly heal and looks completely normal again. I never did see anyone else interact with that torch coral other than the peppermint shrimp occasionally stealing food from it... Glad it all resolved, though. Link to comment
