I feel like I am always on this place trying to find out how I should do next cause this is my first AIO tank...anyways...

I just want to see if there is anyone knows which skimmer that will fit on a JBJ Nano Cube 28 w/o loosing my center basket space, what I am looking at is the Reef Octopus Classics 1000 HOB, I saw one buy posted on this place and said it would, I would like to see if anyone else also have the same skimmer on the same tank.

Thank you.

urgent!!! any one got JBJ nano cube has over heating issue? I had an very small flame angel and died over the weekend when I was out to San Diego. When I get home, the water temp was at 83F!!!! Jump from 75 to 83F, I turn my AC on and now is back to 78..;.need help to resolve the issue...this is what I got as equipment so far:

1. JBJ Nano Cube CF (removed one water pump in the back)

2. EcoTech Marine Radion XR15PRO(removed canopy of the tank)

4. water waive maker

5.2 black clowns

6. six lines

7. fire goby

8. flame angel(died)

Pretty much the temp went from 75F to 83F over the weekend then back down to 78F within some hours....need to have solution to resolve temp problem with temp...hopfully not to get a chiller cause so expensive.

You NEED a JBJ C-Breeze fan. It'll take it from 83 to 78- I had the same exact problem when I had my nanocube

What kind of heater are you running?

ok guys, bad news....my black clown just died on me today, all test result seems ok, notice again my temp dropped from 79-ish 80 to 74F, i turn my heater back up to around 78-ish and lets hope the temp do not drop that quick again tonight!!! Guys any idea anything else could be? It all started to happen after I got my LED light upgrade(removed my canopy), 1 major reason I did this upgrade is to prevent over heating issue, but now it seems like I got bigger problem by keeping the temp around the same!! I think if the problem do not get solve by today, my other clown fish will be on its way too, also my fire goby went MIA on me. Just a horrible start after my 500 bucks upgrade.....

Keep your heater set to 78. Never unplug it; why the heck allow such a large temperature swing?

Sorry, that's a real bummer. NanoCubes are hard to keep temperature I line for sure

Ok guys i think the temp changes is helping...my fish seems to be ok now..lets just hope tomorrow i dont see other one goes..or i might break the tank..lol jk

The temp swinging cause of the temp here and we only turn on ac at night..just from 80/78 ish to 74 ish at night

You know what I find odd, how the fish can't take much of a temperature change in a tank. But when swimming at a reef you can feel huge pockets of totally different temperature water. Maybe they stay out of it. OP I would either keep your AC set to go on all the time, or get a chiller. Clowns should be better with temperature changes though. You checked ammonia after first fish death? You said you were out for the weekend, if a dead fish stayed in that tank for 24 hours that would really be tough on the system. Did you do a water change after removing the fish? I think the fish loss will pay for the chiller in the long run.

this is getting a bit frustrating, my last clown fish died this morning, I have an fire goby and six line remain in my tank along with my inverts. My temp has been set around 78 to 80/81-ish for the past week. Here is couple things I notice on both clowns since I didn't know exactly what happen to my flame angel, by the time I notice the angel died, the head was missing(cleaner fish was doing its job)

1. it seems like both clownfish always look ok in the afternoon when I comeback from work, but they only pass at night time.

2. both fish body skin color looks full black when they look healthy, but when they don't look so good, they look like there is scratches( white patches) all over their body with an extra layer of clear coating at the end at the tail.

I really thought the 2nd clown was going to live, no sign of gasping and eating pretty well. I but just weird thing is that at night time, it start to change color(turning white) and finally this morning at 0600am, it was dead!!! I don't know what that hell is going on, but if anyone can give me some feedback on this that will be great. The water is all at good level...0 amom 0 Nitrite under 5 nitrate.

88* Is too hot. Swings 78 to 88 are even worse! Do you still not have a fan?

Sounds like you have Ich in the tank now.... Fallow time

I thought about ich as well, but here is what I also notice.

when I come back from work, the fish looks fine, but at night time, I start to see white shades on it all over the body....no white dots.

Ich is not always dots, look up on google images.

You know your salinity and PH?

Are you using city water? RODI?

The PH is kind of low...7.8 but the Salinity is 1.026. I use RODI water always. I just changed my water on Sunday 07/26/15, I always do a weekly water change no matter what and always 10g water change on a 28g nano cube(that is almost 50% per week, I was trying to chase for 0 nitrate).

I def know there is some type of sickness with the clowns, it doesn't look like is effecting the six line and fire goby, I think this must have something to do with the water temp swing I had couple weeks ago. Could this be Brooklynella?

Maybe I am wrong, but 10 gallon out of a 28 gallon tank is a lot, on a weekly basis. I have a 50 gallon and only do 5 gallons each week. Although, my Bio load is not that heavy. I think 10% WC is more than enough, unless you have a high bio load.

I was only trying to get my nitrate to zero and was going to start to do 10% water change after that per week. but now, I just want to make sure rest of my fish stays alive....
