Havok_9
If it were me on a five gallon... I'd use lilly pipes to connect to a small canister beneath the tank to help keep filtration out of sight, use a small heater, and leave more room for livestock in the aquarium. Just an overall cleaner look. The lilly pipes should add adequate circulation. For lighting I would go with a coral compulsion par38, once you start with one coral you're gonna get hooked. Don't skimp. A hunk of liverock. Good to go. But that's just one way out of many to go... If I were you, I'd comb thru people's tank profiles on the Forums sections or especially look at all the featured Tank of The Month profiles to get a good feel of your direction and general equipment/stock list. Go to the Picos (http://www.nano-reef.com/forum/37-pico-reefs/) as well on here, good for figuring out what supplies you'll need and also great research for down the road. http://www.nano-reef.com/featured I've always gotten great inspiration from this site. Good luck to you! Link to comment
