Cycleguy0623 Posted July 7, 2015 Share Posted July 7, 2015 I just moved up from an old RSM 130d and set up a beautiful 60gal cube. The cube is 24"x24"24" and I'm looking for a little change in lighting. I had a Radion gen 2 in the hood of the RSM but my wife dose not like the look of it hanging above the tank. What options do I have for a mixed reef tank that will mount to the tank? I was thinking of some of the following options. Any opinions or experiences would be appreciated. Nanofreak79 Posted July 7, 2015 Share Posted July 7, 2015 Nanobox or Kessil for sure. Nanobox has a nice gooseneck, so does Kessil. You could always mount your radion to RSM mount and upgrade to the new pro led pads. If it were me I'd upgrade the radion, jmo Link to comment
VW_TDI_02 Posted July 7, 2015 Share Posted July 7, 2015 I'm a bit confused as to what is wrong with your current lighting. If she doesn't like the look of the radion, I'm assuming she also won't like the AI Hydra since they are both rectangular pendant lights that are typically hung. The Nanobox Duo would work great and look great and the kessil 360 is another option. The issue I have with the single kessil is that I'm not sure how much light spillage you'll end up getting into the rest of the room and that may be an issue. Having two kessil 160 will probably result in the same issue. Link to comment

If the new mount would work for the gen 2 I would just grab the mount but it looks like the bolt patteren is different. can anyone confirm that? Link to comment

Bolt a 1/4" piece of acrylic to the mount and then drill a new set of holes that line up with your current generation radion. Could also make it black to hide it and even drill some airflow holes through it. Would definitely save some money instead of buying a whole new fixture. Link to comment
