Can this Leather be fragged? Its about the size of a softball and I'd like to cut it into 1/3's if possible. If so how do I go about doing it?

Yep... Definitely.

Heres a video on fragging a leather coral, very explanatory!

Wow Thx Harry. I already do the rubber band method with my Kenya trees.

So there are not toxins I have to worry about??

I believe leathers do not have toxins, but I would advice to swish the cut pieces in a bucket of tank water before introducing them back into your tank

Okay Sorry to bring this up again but I was getting ready to frag this leather. First time so a little cautious about cutting it up.

Problem, the foot or trunk is stuck onto three rocks so it makes it hard to remove from the tank. It's stuck to a smaller rock in front, some rock rubble (which you can't see) and the larger rock in back.

Can I just rip it off the rock? and make my frags as needed?
Should I just cut it up while in the tank?

Just don't want to jack anything up... Its a nice leather and didn't want to kill it off either..

Picture? Can you get the rock out? I wouldn't suggest ripping the foot

That is a Devils hand leather. Yes you can rip it off the rock. You can cut it into a hundred pieces if you like. It's best to cut leathers outside of the tank the have some nasty toxins that don't play well with LPS and SPS if you have any of those. Run a fresh bag of carbon for a few days in the tank and you will be just fine.

Leathers don't have a foot the body just grows onto the rock or plug or whatever making a base.

You can take a a pair of scissors and chop the base off the rock if you want inside the tank. But be prepared to run carbon or even do a WC.

Thx Lawn/prg5; I know they i don't have "foots" was just trying to describe what it looked like... As they say a pic is worth a thousand words...(See 2nd pic at top) So looks like I will just rip it off cut it up out side the tank and then place 'em back. Have carbon ready and just need to get some water..
