Drilling and sumping a 10g?

I have a 10g truvu with an overflow box that I haven't drilled yet. The sump will only be a 5g but I need a lot of flow. What size should I drill for the overflow? 1 hole? 2 holes? What size should I drill my return for as well? I was thinking 3/4" or 1" overflow with a 1/2" return on each end?

Or maybe do a single overflow and return and drill for a closed loop?

The tank will hold lps, zoas and sps frags from another tank.

Thanks

I did a 12 gallon with no powerheads. All the flow is from the return pump in the sump. I used two 1" drains, and two 1/2" returns. If you do a 5 gallon sump just make sure you have enough room for back siphon. My sump is a 10 gallon tank and its only filled half way when running. When I kill the power all the water drains back through the return lines and my sump is then filled with about 9 gallons of water.
