Sunstar
My lamps won't come on today, they flashed. They are LED. also the cooling fan - which is not on the buckpucks also did not come on. Is the problem here possibly the power supply? I can't find a phillips screwdriver in this hourse to save my life. I am in absolute tears right now. Link to comment
Sunstar
I took it appart one connection has to be replaced, but I am wondering if the power supply is fried. Link to comment
HarryPotter
Any pictures? What LED fixture do you have? Have you ever soldered before? Link to comment
Sunstar
I made this system myself so I have soldered. The two issues could be A: the powersupply, or B the connection to the system. The Heatsink has Fans attached to the back. the powersupply is 12 volt 1 amp. I was looking today and could only find 19 volts. I do not want to blow the Buckpucks or the cooling fans. Horerczy
Could be the power supply. What kind of psu do you have? Pictures are key. Link to comment
Sunstar
PSU? Oh Power supply unit. A black one. same one that is in the pics. Link to comment
Horerczy
Do you have a multimeter? You can use it to check the PSU output to see if anything is happening there. Link to comment
Sunstar
I have one, but I am unsure how to use it - not sure where I put it. I will take it with me to sayal and see if they can test it there. Link to comment
Sunstar
The problem IS the power supply. However I am not very good at understanding what I did years ago, I can't even find the instructions I followed to build the system 700ma buckpucks this power is DC 12V 2.5amp IS this too much? I connected it and the lights did not come on. At this point I fear I blew the bucks. I really freeze hard when it comes to maths and I am confused. Especially since I can not remember where I got my information. Going back over my DIY log. It appears I calculated it to 2.5 amps. The draw total being 3 amps http://www.nano-reef.com/topic/262586-2-gallon-pico-led-lighting-project/page-2?gopid=3279453#entry3279453 Link to comment
Sunstar
buck pucks won't fire up. are they fried? Link to comment
Horerczy
Might be. Bucks are delicate. Swap them with LDD drivers. Link to comment
Sunstar
LDD are they the same size? space is the issue... As it stands, being hot, tired and frustrated, I figured out the problem. Would help to plug the lamp back into the project box.. might make the lights work. Link to comment
