amphipod
Is it growing quickly? Does it respond to touch? Are there more of them? Link to comment
Mindcrime
There is now two of them, i have knocked it down twice and the thing rebuilds itself in a day or two..... Link to comment
ndrobey
Try touching it. Does it react? Is it hard or soft? Link to comment
Mindcrime
It will bend, but pops back up, sometimes it will crumble, but the damn thing will rebuild itself overnight. If you look really close at it you can see tiny hairs streaming from it. The tube looks like it is built from the sand ( like a hair worm ) Link to comment
amphipod
Is it in the shady or light portions of the tank? Also does it look like something is moving inside of it? Link to comment
Mindcrime
It is actually on a mushroom rock, I would say its in medium light. It does look like something is inside the tube.... Link to comment
amphipod
do the hairs seem to limply hang in the direction of the current or do they seem to be moving independent of water flow? Link to comment
Mindcrime
They hang in the current Link to comment
amphipod
It is a sort of foraminifera, some species will make shells from gluing assorted materials together, type in arborescent foraminifera, what you have will show up. Don't be concerned about killing it though because it really isn't harmful at all and it is actually a pretty dang cool thing to have acquired. Link to comment
