Huffy
Got some live rock to seed my dry rock. After everything settled I found a few of these: They are very cool looking, i don't think they are aiptasia, but I am not an expert. They dont have a stalk, and go into the rock when you bug them. They have a mouth looking thing right in the middle, as you can see in the picture. Help, should i nuke them now? Link to comment
FlowerMama
Appears to be a ball anemone, they're good, have never caused any harm in my tanks. They remain tiny. Link to comment

FlowerMama
Do nothing, they live on their own with whatever is in the water column. Link to comment
ReefWeeds
Actually, it kind of looks like hidden cup corals - they're NPS. I think I can see the whitish corallites under the tentacles. Link to comment

There is some sort of white growth under the tentacles. Only way I can think to describe it is it looks sort of like a barnacle, but I am pretty sure these are not barnacles. Link to comment
FlowerMama
Sometimes it's hard to tell on these things. Link to comment
Benny314
I'd be tempted to suggest that's some sort of LPS coral, the tentacles look a lot like the feeders my lobo and trumpet corals put out and in the top right of the image looks like there's a stony coral type skeleton with the flesh drawn back. You sir may have some free coral hitch hikers. Link to comment
Huffy
Seems like the consensus is that it is a good thing! Thanks for everyones help! Link to comment
jamescstein
+1 on the cup coral. We have many that came out our Gulf live rock. Some of them even have a lime green phosphorescence under heavy blue lighting. They are NPS and will need to be fed. Link to comment

jamescstein
Whatever. If you don't already broadcast feed something you'll want to hand feed them for a while. We don't even bother anymore as the tank is getting reef roids or rotifers or something of the like several times a week anyhow. We just turn the sump return off and let the wave fans blow the stuff around for everything, Link to comment
ackattackkk
I have the samething so do about 5 other people. Somone made a thread with all of our encounters in it. Yours does kinda look like a ball anemone Link to comment
Guits
You can see a skeleton underneath the polyp, so I believe it should be hidden cup coral (Phyllangia americana). Another member has a nice picture up: http://www.nano-reef.com/gallery/image/457-phyllangia/ Link to comment

I did have those for a while until I got rid of it. These are the hidden cup corals: Link to comment
