Encrusting corals

Hey guys question, when you are trying to get encrusting type corals to encrust on to live rock does the frag have to be flush with the live rock in order to keep going or will it stop at the frag plug if it's not touching rock to keep going on to, just wondering I have a couple corals that I didn't get the bottom of the frag plug completely flat so it's raised off of The rock a little, just enough that the plug is not flush with the rock and it sticks up a little.

They will wrap around the plug and onto the rock. in the long term of things you will be fine. I know people that don't cut the plug and wait till it encrusts onto the rock then pop then plug off and sell it.
