Rodi

So I noticed that even though my water coming directly out of the Rodi is 0 tds, whatever container I put it in the tds seems to jump sometimes to 2 sometimes a little more, is this normal? Is this just maybe dust or something inside of the container causing it to jump.

Using the same meter to test coming out and in the container?

If not, could be one of the meters needs to be calibrated. If so, your container is dirty. However much volume are we talking about?

I use a 40 gallon brute. When I fill it completely even if there a gallon or 2 of salt water left in it, it'll still read 0 tds when I've added 48 gallons of RO/DI water to it.

Yes same meter, and I am using a 5 gallon petco bucket and then I did it again in a 1gallon container, but I was only filling a quarter of each container to test, so maybe testing less than a quarter of a gallon each time, in fact I just tested my top off water(1 gallon container that was Half full) and it's showing 1ppm, water coming out of my ro is 3, and then 0 coming out of the DI with freshly replaced resin, and I'm collecting that with a shot glass full of water.

Not normal. Use a food safe container like a Brute can. I store 30 gallons all the time and I never notice a tds increase in the stored water.

ALWAYS test the water directly from the RO/DI not from the storage container when you are troubleshooting the system. If you want to check your container you can test from the container but it will not tell you much. If it concerns you, rinse the buckets and jugs out with a strong vinegar solution then rinse with RO/DI, cover them with lids or caps and never ever use them for anything else other than RO/DI. Once you mix saltwater in the bucket, or siphon out some tank water for a change, etc, the bucket will always have some residue in it. Nothing really to worry about if all it is is salt from the tank or a new bag of salt though so again, test from the RO/DI and don't be concerned with the buckets reading if you know what has been in it previiously.

Ok that's what I was thinking because the same buckets I use for Rodi are the same one I eventually mix the salt in.
