Ai prime, need some help!

I use a Ai prime led lamp for lighting my 12 gal fluval edge tank.... Had it for the last 2 months and love how it work, but I can figure what setting to use. If you could help I whould appreciate it.

Started with a 60% settings and had to lower it down since i started to have a algea bloom and bacteria (cyano). So everytime I turned off the light for 24-72 hours and helped to clear the stuff away. I am not sure what color channel to use and what intensity to use it. Everything is worst when i activate the green, red and white channel. Do i need those chanels or should just stay with the blues, purple and a bit of uv?

I have been reading about lighting, but each time I changed the setting after reading it didnt make anything better. Right now just turned the light on and only used the blues, purple and uv.... Everything is at a 25% intensity and below.

I should also say that the light is standing only a 1 1/2 inch above the water line... Consequence of working around the fluval edge tank design. I will have to find a solution to make the lamp stand higher but mean while in will like a little bit of your help.

I am nes to salt water and i still have alot to learn about.

Sounds like you have more of a nutrient issue than a lighting problem. Dealing with algae and cyano by turning down your lighting will also negatively affect the other photosynthetic organisms in your tank. Address the nutrients and organics in your tank, then turn your lights back up.

I suggest setting your AI To 20k @ 100% and get it mounted about 5 1/2 " Above surface and stop messing with Settings after that. Also as for algea & Cyano, listen to Seabass.
