After 2 years away, I got the itch again.

Started doing a research on what kind of AIO tanks were available and fell in love with the IM Fusion 10g. Got it all setup just a few days ago so waiting for that cycle to kick in!

Equipment:

IM Fusion 10

Stock Pump

RW-4 with 12v Power Supply

AI Prime

Hydor 100w Heater

InTanks Media basket

Livestock:

8-ish lbs of Reef cleaners dry rock

1.5lbs of Cured Live Rock from LFS

3 Hermits

1 Red Mithrax Crab

CUC from reefcleaners (a lot of snails)

Current FTS 8/5/15

Tested for Ammonia. It seems to be around the .25ppm, but these tests are hard to read! Took a picture, any thoughts?

Picture of scape coming soon. Need to figure out my wifes DSLR camera.

First FTS. Very blurry because the glass badly needs a cleaning. Got a lot of sediment from the sand.

Let me know thoughts on the scape!

Got my InTank media basket today. This thing is awesome! Only running filter floss in it for now till my cycle is complete.

Still not seeing an ammonia spike. Should I wait it out and hope the rock I got from the LFS has enough die off or should I start ghost feeding?

Looking good Huffy, I ordered my InTank yesterday, looking forward to seeing it later this week. A new tank is a exciting time.

I still have the stock IM 18w led that came with the tank and was thinking of upgrading, what do you think of the AI Prime?

The InTank is awesome. Really glad i went with the upgrade.

I love the AI Prime. Great value. I can not offer anything about how good it is at growing coral as I don't have any, but it sure is bright! Easy to mount and the controls are awesome! The web interface is great and the app makes messing with the lights easy enough.

Your tank is looking great! I am jealous of your live rock, I started with dry rock and seeded with some live stuff from a LFS. I am thinking of going back to the LFS and picking up a few more lbs to get some more life in here.

The 1lbs I did get has a ton of creatures on it and was fairly priced. I think if I got another 3-4lbs it would really increase the bio-diversity.

Here is a FTS I took last night:

Sorry for all the blue, still working on figuring out the wifes DSLR, so been using my iPhone for now. Anyone got some iPhone photo tips? so much blue!

Your tank is looking good too. Can't have enough trips to the LF$ at $50 a pop. Hope to see the InTank and my ATO in the mail his week.

Like to help you with iPhone setting but have no clue. I am using my wives Canon G11 that is a point and shoot, if you are using a Mac, iPhoto has some filter adjustments.

Have been testing every day. Used dry rock with about 2lbs of live rock from the LFS. Have been ghost feeding every day. My Ammonia never really spiked (highest was 0.5ppm) but my nitrates are now at 10ppm. Did I miss the spike? Is it possible that the tank is cycled? Has been up for around 2 weeks.

Thanks for the idea of using iPhoto, will check that out!

Looks great so far! We have a similar set up, and I'm facing the exact same problem with no ammonia spike!

Not sure if its a problem though! I think I will give it another week. If everything tests fine at the end of this week i might get my first fish!

Anyone have some suggestions for a cool fish for this tank?

Looking good!!! :D Love these little tanks!

Can you post your light schedule for your Prime? I want to install my AI Prime light but just am not sure of what I want to set the lighting schedule to. And seeing that you have the same exact tank and light.... I thought it would be a great idea to see your schedule.

Thanks!

Thanks! Its coming along... slowly!

So far my schedule is.... I just manually do it. I work from home and this tank sits on my desk. I don't have anything that has a light requirement other than the hitch hiking mushrooms, but they seem to be doing just fine. One thing I love about this light is I can go from 10k to 20k, so many options. I plan on adding some corals next week so I will probably work on a schedule this week.

Do you have a build thread for yours? Would love to follow along!

Got my reef cleaners package in yesterday. Everything survived the trip and John over delivered as always.

I also got a penny macro. It looks to be red gracilaria. A few hours after putting it into my tank I noticed my hitch hiking red mithrax crab chowing down. I did not know they would eat macro! Few pieces are left, maybe it will grow, but not hopeful.

Hopefully going to get a fish either this weekend or next.

Looking for stocking suggestions!

For my first fish I want something that is hardy, and swims a little bit in the water column. Any of the shrimp gobies are out as eventually I want to get a Yash.

The 3 fish I am trying to decide between are:

1. Clownfish, probably a true perc as I like the dark black lines on them

2. Green Banded Goby

3. Tailspot Blenny

Anyone have some input on which one would be cool? Sell me on which on to get if you have one of these :)

Why not two fish? :naughtydance: :owned: fingerscrossed

(IMO Clownfish and Blenny)

I like the way you think! Eventually I will add a second or a third fish, but for now would like to stock it sloooooow, not to mention, on a budget!

Did a good cleaning of the glass today and tested the tank parameters to confirm it was a go for getting a fish! Everything looks good :)

I am still trying to decide between the Green Banded Goby, Tailspot Blenny, and a Clownfish. Probably will just go to the store and see which one I like the most.

Took another stab with the DSLR camera today. Out of the 50+ photos I took, 2 of them turned out ok!

That is the current FTS.

Awesome cup coral hitch hikers. Very cool! These are on the underside of one of the arches.

Any thoughts on changing the stock pump or get a stream nozzle or wave pump?

I recently got an RW-4. You just cant see it in that last pic. I have loved it so far!

Tanks looking good. The three fish you listed were on my top three list also, "great minds". I might add a couple more softies in the near future, but I am waiting a bit longer for my tank to mature, also I don't what to have to rely on someone to feed them when we are away on holiday's, maybe after we come back from vacation in September I'll start on the fish.

I believe I will be able to get to the LFS this weekend and get a fish and hopefully a frag or two. I think I am going to get a black ocellaris clown to start. They are hardy and I think they look really cool.

On a side note, my 2 nassarius snails from reefcleaners have died. All other snails and the 3 hermits are fine. Also the other nassarius snail I had from a friends tank is doing fine as well. Any thoughts on why just these snails are having an issue? Could it be starvation?

Finally was able to get to the LFS and get a fish! I went with a misbar black Ocellaris clown. He is awesome! I also was able to get in touch with a local reefer that hooked me up with a few frags.

Everything in tank is doing great. Got some coralline algae growing on the reef cleaners rock and pods everywhere.

Still working on my camera skills.

IMG_3475.jpg

Clownfish. No name, yet! Letting the wife handle that one.

IMG_3472.jpg

This is a montipora spongeode. Very cool coloring.

IMG_3467.jpg

Teal birdsnest. HUGE "frag".

IMG_3479.jpg

Current FTS.

I also got some green pallys, but was not able to get a decent photo. They are in the back right corner, don't want them to take over.

The birdsnest is still on its plug in the sand because I dont have my coral glue yet! I ordered some off Amazon, but with the crazy weather it has not been delivered yet. Hoping tomorrow I can get this stuff glued down.

Looking Good, Adding the Clown, gives the tank added life. I added my first fish a Snowflake Clown last week, very entertaining.

Have a better picture that shows the RW-4 in this tank? Curious as to how big it is. Also, do you have it with the standard power adapter, or did you get one of the adjustable ones to turn down the power? I've read the RW-4 can push a lot of water, and am afraid it might be too much for this sized tank.

I will try and get a picture later.

I did use it with the normal power adapter for a while but recently got a 12v adapter for it. With the normal (24v) adapter it was a little much i thought. But with the 12v adapter it is perfect. I can use it on else (random) mode and it gives a lot of random flow.
