Where do you put dosing tubes in an AIO?

Where do you out them? I had them in a rear chamber, but realized there was not enough flow and my two-part began to precipitate.

Bought an Eshopps tube mount at RAP, so should I have them go right into the display?

What do you do? (Pictures welcome!)

Hey Harry,

I have my 2-part go into the rear chamber. Perhaps I have this wrong, but isn't the idea behind dosing Ca opposite time of Alk to prevent precipitation?

Yeah they dose 6 hours apart! But I still see precipitate?

I put the dosing tubes and mount directly into the display, right in front of the return. Very turbulent and disperses the supplements in seconda

I use the DOS and it literally doses drops at a time consistently throughout the day. I do not believe the turbulent flow is needed in this case. Maintains Ca/Alk very nicely with no precipitate and consistent pH.

Hmm I do 6ml Ca at 11:59 AM and 11:59 PM, and 6ml KH at 6:00AM and 6:00 PM.

I may split it up more later- it's just the Jebao programming is a PITA!

I dose 0.3 ml of Alk and 0.6 ml of Ca at a time. 24 ml of Alk and 13 ml of Ca per 24 hours.

Yeah maybe I'll do 1ml Ca on odd hours (12ml total) and 1 ml KH on even hours (12ml total)

You want to try and spread your dosing out more if you can Harry. I know the Jebao has a limit on doses per day per pump but you should be able to break each one in to 20 or so doses over the course of the day.

So like my previous post? 1 ml Ca even hours, 1 ml KH odd hours? PITA to program with the Jebao, but I'll do it.

I dose the Alk when my lights are off to help balance pH and Ca the opposite. Not sure how 1 of Alk 1 of Ca 1 of Alk 1 of Ca etc. would do.

Ya. We posted at the same time or damn near it.

I'm tempted to get a DOS. I'm addicted to all the programming functions of the Apex but I hate giving them money for overpriced stuff. I could get 3 Marine Magic dosers for the price of one DOS.

I wish I had an apex! I don't understand ReefKeeper haha

That is a good point. Alk helps keep your PH stable and PH fluctuation occurs at night. You can fight that off some by running a reverse photo period on a fuge/sump but Harry doesn't really have one.

I thought you had an Apex?

I had that on the NanoCube, but sold it to sponsor the upgrade. I've been running without, but now have a Digital Aquatics controller. It's pretty awesome, ORP, PH, Voltage, wireless, etc, but I am having trouble programming it.

I'll probably start a new thread on that or pay someone to help me set it up (log onto my account and program it with me)

They are pretty easy as well. Which one do you have?

The newest one. Full package ;)

Il pay you $10 or so to teach me and help me program it- I've been struggling for a week or so :(

I've just been able to connect it to the Internet to login from anywhere, but beyond that I'm clueless. The instructions (IMO) are impossible to follow- I wish the software was the step-ladder programming like the Apex (If ____ then ___>

I also have a Fuge in the back chamber and the light runs during the night for 10 hour opposite the DT.

I have a fuge set up, but the basket is terrible and keeps on dumping Chaeto into the Display. I'll need to DIY some mesh and get that on before buying Chaeto (again :( )

I just use the IM Custom Caddy. Top section is filter floss and the bottom 2 chambers are Cheato. I removed 1 of the separators so the bottom section is twice as large. Zero algae makes it to the DT.

I have the InTank Refuugium basket. Two sides are completely open :(

So you have the ReefKeeper Plus? You should sell it and buy an Apex. ReefKeeper is bleh.

I used these links to learn how to program them. http://www.3reef.com/threads/reefkeeper-lite-how-to-program-and-a-review.99726/

The Archon? Yuck. I've never programmed one but it is all cloud based from what I can tell. Not something I would ever mess with.

Yeah I wish I had another apex :(
