I have a 3 gallon reef and want to switch to a new salt mix and to rodi. How should I do this and how long will It take to have all tap and old salt out of tank?

I would just do your reg water changes and you should be fine, nothing real difficult about it. After a couple water changes it will all be cycled out.

I started my ten gallon with tap and a different salt, like every one else says just donyour water change like you would normally and it will convert over a period of time, you allready put what ever it was from your tap into the tank so the damage has been done which isn't much lol get bavknon ro di and a good reef salt if your keeping corals and don't stress:)

If your regular water change is 10-20% just start using the new stuff for your water changes.. If you typically do larger.. I would only do 10-20% for a couple of changes.

Tap->RODI is no big deal, your stock won't miss whats missing at all. The salt mix could be a drastic change and you do want to ease into it.

What salt are you using now and what are you going to replace it with.

I am using instant ocean and want to switch to seachem reef salt.

Half IO and half seachem salt for the next few water changes to be safe.

lol. No need. It is salt. Not an additive. Most salts are within 10% of each other in values. No problem just switching over.

guys.. you really need to look at his tank.. there's not a single coral in there that will blink an eye at a 100% water change with new water. That cyano will not be happy tho.
