So after not being able to make it back to reefapalooza today to buy the jbj frag tank, I decided to have a tank made big a guy in Burlington nj, who makes rimless tanks and his prices are great. As I am using the ikea Kalax stand I wanted something that would fit right on top as my edge does. The dimensions I went with were:

24x14x11. The shallow 11 inches should be nice and the 14 wide will be good too. Total cost was 116 dollars.

It will take 3-5 days but than I will have the tank. I will either use a canister filter or an ac70 on the side peninsula style with my mp10.

I'm going to be getting a nanobox duo as well and will get the dedicated moonlight channel I think. What does everyone think of 2 channels vs more on the nanobox? I really need some pros and cons here to help make the decision. Thanks in advance!!!

Well I don't have my duo yet but I ended up going with 4 channels of control on mine to do what I want with it as I like to play around and at one point I had 3 channels and moonlight and Dave was like just get a 4 channel cause you will just make more sense than what I had picked. So depends on how much control you want I suppose.

Good choice on the ikea stand. I bought one and modified it for my taste. As for the Dou, i have the moonlight which i love but i have heard of other memebers using the blue leds for the moonlight. Best thing is to talk to dave, he is great with answering questions.

So is it possible to get four channels plus a moonlight? Or is it two or three plus a moonlight? If you do four what goes on what channels?

Sorry I missed you at RAP yesterday!

I'm sorry I missed everyone too! Only saw Harry. Had to leave by two as we had arrangements with fam for dinner back in philly and today my gf moved in so going back up to the show was not an option.

You can get the 4 channel and add on the moonlight channel as well. Personally I went with the 4 channels only.

Ch 2 royal blue

Ch 3 violet

Ch 4 rebel blue, rebel cyan

At least that's on the tide

So did you get four channels including a moonlight? or just four channels and no moonlight?

I am hoping for someone to weigh in and give me some real examples of why I want more than two channels or what the pros and cons are of each. It seems at first glance, more channels means more to play with, but also, I am not sure I would know where to set them all. Does anyone do 3 channels whites/limes, blues/cyans, violet? I know there are a lot of nanobox users on this site and some LED experts, so input would be great. I know a lot of this info is probably on the site so I apologize for asking again, but the search on this site is cumbersome, and as soon as you enter the word nanobox, you are just overwhelmed with posts.

I only got the 4 channels, no moonlight upgrade. Dave said the blue fish could still control the blue channel to have a moonlight cycle. The 4'channels give you more ability to fine tune what you like as far as color intensities and mix.

Thanks Dave, I'll be contacting you today/tomorrow to order. Do you still do the dark grey with the orange accent?

Still looking for more people's thoughts on 2 channels vs more.

Get the 4 channel, it will be nice to have the ability. Also, get a white sleeved cable, with gray body and orange accent... That would be sleek.

I did decide on the four channel and he moonlight. Figured might as well have it all. The white sleeve prob would be real nice. See what the girl says when she comes home. She's my designer.

I dont know...I got two.

I heard sometimes less is more when it comes to lighting, as tweaking too much isn't a good thing.

I have a 2 channel Duo no moonlight. You really can't go wrong with any option you pick. The biggest thing with 4 channel is you can increase Royal blue without increasing violet or things like that. you get to pick how you want the tank to look. Like the AI Prime you can control like 7 colors. All about customization for the number of channels.

I run my Duo with my blue on all night as low as I can but getting the dedicated channel uses one LED instead of multiple.

$116 for that tank is a steal. You can't even get the material for that.

I'll let you know how it comes out. It's not starphire/low iron. Just standard 1/4 inch glass. I have seen photos of the guys work and it look flawless at least in photos. He just does this on the side. Told me yesterday that he had got my glass and was prepping it, and would be assembling and water testing this weekend. Should be able to pick it up on Tuesday Next week

My buddy owns the lfs, and he just gave me his logon to his dealer so I can log right on their site, fill his shopping cart with things I need, and pay dealer prices!!! Boom I'm psyched.
