However many you need to keep up with your feeding, seeing as they only eat meaty food. Since it's a 5 gal, I'm assuming you don't feed as much so 2-3 should be fine. Link to comment

If they're the small ones (tan/yellow-brown shell I think) you're probably fine but could add more if you want. If they're the larger type (gray shell I think) then you're probably good.
