cmac23
this tank has been sitting for about 4 years. I figured it was time to start this thing up. Currently letting the tank cycle, day 1. Attached is several pics of the drain, sump, and my way of stashing my plugs and power strip. How high should my light overhang as this is a shallow tank. Thinking of doing bareless or just a small amount of sand. Any recommendations or help will be much appreciated. cmac23
Thanks.. Trying to do this tank right. Before I rushed things, even though I have been in the hobby for 10 years. This time I slowed down and thought out everything. Is my light height a good height? Link to comment
Lynton
Thanks.. Trying to do this tank right. Before I rushed things, even though I have been in the hobby for 10 years. This time I slowed down and thought out everything. Is my light height a good height? I've only been the hobby since January so I'm not wise to light height ect.... seems ok to me as long as the tank gets equal lighting you should b b fine. Link to comment

cmac23
Probably have to put it on 30% Link to comment
hwk7072
MP10, now with the quiet drive and more power, you'll not regret it. Link to comment
Kimosobey
Nice looking tank! Can't go wrong with the mp-10. I have aw p-10 in a 5.5 gallon, if you're on a budget it's a pretty good little pump. Doesn't push the sand around Link to comment
kirbaay
Man i have the mp10 at the lowest setting on my 40 gallon that shit pushes some water! Link to comment
cmac23
Probably get the quiet drive mp10 and I can use it on future tanks if needed. This tank is shallow, only 12 gallons, will have to put it on a low setting Link to comment
cmac23
Still awaiting cycle to complete. I used Dr tims one and only and some ammonia Link to comment
Red_Blenny
What's the dimension of the tank? It's nice tank (and a plus for acrylic). I'd stick to bare bottom unless you get some heavy sand since the mp10 will blow it around if it's shallow plus it's easier to suck up the detritus if it's bare bottom. Probably get the quiet drive mp10 and I can use it on future tanks if needed. This tank is shallow, only 12 gallons, will have to put it on a low setting My tank is also 12gal shallow tank and I have it at 40-50% strength (I have the mp10 about 4" below the surface of the water). cmac23
My friend built it. I like the overflow and the custom cover to keep fish out Link to comment

Reefkid88
Is that a Advanced Acrylics tank ?! I've been contemplating getting the Pico tank they have. What're your stocking plans for this ?! Link to comment
cmac23
This tank was a actually built by a friend using Mr aqua dimensions. Not sure on live stock yet. For sure a few clams. Wondering if I can get away with a 6 line wrasse since it's 3 feet long. The tank dimensions are awesome, I say pull the trigger on one if you're on the fence. Link to comment
